It is not known if the apprentice Ann SWEET was any relation to Thomas's wife.
For Ann's marriage, the parish clerk wrote in the register "Ann MITCHELMORE or MUCHAMORE of this parish" but Ann signed MUCHAMORE.
William appears to have been enumerated twice in 1851. |

Peter was baptised with his mother's surname and then given his father's surname when his parents married in 1763. Dartmouth clerks of the day seem to have had great difficulty transcribing the family surname: The spellings MOUCHEMORE, MAUCHEMORE, MAUCHIMER and MAUCHMOR are all unique to this town. Background on shipping between Dartmouth and Newfoundland is available here. |

Burlestone is approximately half 4 km south of Blackawton village. Blackwell is about 1 km east of Burlestone.
"Slade" may have been the name of a farm rather than a village.
Peter's burial in 1838 was the first performed at the new Strete chapelry of the parish church of Blackawton. |

Grace’s father married Joanna WHITE on 20Jul1785 Stokenham. Several of Grace’s grandchildren carry the middle name White, and her son Daniel's death certificate actually gives her name as Grace Lawrence WHITE.
Either Grace's death was registered very late or the burial record has been transcribed incorrectly. |
