M*CH*MORE One Name Study
NAVIGATING THROUGH A FAMILY TREE
In the reconstructed family trees, most family units consist of a male M*CH*MORE head, one or more wives, and their children. A female M*CH*MORE is treated as a head of a family when her first child was illegitimate.
Families are grouped according to their generation. Each family has a unique code number, which is shown in the left-hand column. All the known data on each family member are presented, including a female child's spouse, unless that member is the head of a later M*CH*MORE family. In that case, except for their birth or christening date, that person's data are included in the next generation. Each line represents data from one source, so that data occasionally contradict each other.
Blue text shows that a link has been established between families in different
generations. You can navigate between generations as follows:
- Click on the name of a child to go to his or her family in the next generation.
- Click on the name of the head or spouse to go to his or her family in the previous generation.
The symbol means that, although a link has not been positively established, a possible link exists. Click on the symbol to explore this possibility.
Families are always displayed with the head of the family at the top of the screen. You may need to scroll down to find the person you are looking for.
